Take the Next Step in Your Security Career
Guardian Concepts has partnered with Advanced Armored Training Academy to offer the Illinois 28-Hour Armed Security Officer Firearms Training Course, the state-mandated program required for security professionals who will carry a firearm while performing their duties. This course satisfies the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) training requirement for armed security officers and must be completed in addition to the required 20-Hour Unarmed Security Officer Training. The curriculum consists of 20 hours of classroom instruction and 8 hours of live-fire range training.
Designed and taught by experienced instructors with military, law enforcement, and professional security backgrounds, this course emphasizes responsible firearm handling, legal compliance, sound judgment, and the practical skills needed to safely perform armed security duties in real-world environments.
Course Topics Include:
Firearm safety, handling, storage, and maintenance
Safe loading, unloading, and administrative handling
Defensive weapon retention techniques
